THE ARTIST
Regarded as one of the most pop-oriented artists of his generation and often compared to Tom Wesselmann, he took part in the founding of Nouveau Réalisme.
His work quickly moved beyond the frame (both literally and figuratively) notably through the use of traces left by living snails.
Despite being affected by multiple sclerosis, he continued his artistic practice, also developing monumental sculptures, some of which are displayed in public spaces.
His work has been exhibited in the United States, Asia, and throughout Europe.
Today, his daughter Pamela carries on her father’s legacy by continuing his work through exhibitions, sculptures, paintings, and editions.
