FRAGRANCE CREATION
Harvesting Flowers: An Art in Tune with Nature
The creation of a perfume begins long before it is formulated in a laboratory—it takes root in nature, in the heart of blooming fields. The harvesting of fragrant flowers is a crucial step that respects both the rhythm of the seasons and the most favorable times of the day. Each floral species has its own schedule: jasmine is picked in summer at sunrise when its petals release their purest fragrance. The May rose, a treasure of perfumery, is harvested in spring, early in the morning, before the heat disperses its delicate notes. This meticulous picking ensures an optimal concentration of aromatic molecules, a true promise of olfactory richness for the next stage of the process.

Enfleurage: The Delicate Extraction of the Most Fragile Flowers
Some flowers, such as jasmine, tuberose or gardenia, are too delicate to endure steam distillation. To preserve the entirety of their scent, the ancestral technique of enfleurage is used. This method involves placing freshly picked petals on a thin layer of vegetable or animal fat, which gradually absorbs their fragrance. Each day, the wilted flowers are replaced with new ones until the fat is fully saturated with aromatic molecules. This scented pomade is then washed with alcohol to extract the absolute—an essence of rare intensity, a true concentrate of nature and emotion.

Perfume Composition: The Art of Enhancing Raw Materials
Once extracted, these precious essences are entrusted to perfumers, the unseen artists who craft unique fragrances. Blending raw materials is a delicate balance of harmony and precision: the floral note obtained through enfleurage is combined with other ingredients—woody, amber, or spicy—to create a distinctive olfactory signature. A hint of vanilla can soften an opulent tuberose, while green and citrusy notes can add freshness to a jasmine absolute. Each perfume thus becomes a story to be smelled, a sensory journey where nature and creativity merge to capture the emotion of a fleeting moment.
